My Approach

Therapy that honours
all of who you are

The name Cambium comes from the living layer beneath tree bark — the thin, vital tissue from which new growth emerges. In the same way, therapy works at the layer just beneath the surface: where real, lasting change quietly takes root.

My approach is integrative, meaning I draw thoughtfully from multiple modalities rather than applying a single fixed model. The diagram alongside shows how I understand the layers of a person's inner world — and how the therapeutic relationship holds all of them.

Above all, the relationship itself is the foundation. A safe, honest, and compassionate connection creates the conditions in which growth becomes possible.

What I Work With

Areas of support

I work with a wide range of concerns. If you don't see yours below, please reach out — it may well be something I can help with.

01
Anxiety & Overwhelm

Persistent worry, panic, social anxiety, and the exhaustion of living in a constant state of alertness.

02
Depression & Low Mood

Feeling flat, disconnected, or unable to access joy — however long this has been present in your life.

03
Relationship Difficulties

Patterns in relating, communication challenges, and the aftermath of separation or relationship loss.

04
Trauma & PTSD

Trauma-informed support for acute experiences and the quieter effects of adverse childhood experiences.

05
Identity & Life Transitions

Navigating change — career, parenthood, loss, illness, or questions of identity, meaning, and purpose.

06
Grief & Loss

Bereavement, but also the grief of lost relationships, opportunities, health, or former versions of ourselves.

Fees & Affordability

Therapy should be
accessible to all

Everyone's financial circumstances are unique and should not be a barrier to accessing therapy. I offer a trust based fee model which incorporates a sliding scale fee structure so that sessions are as affordable and inclusive as possible — please be honest about what you can genuinely afford.

Reduced Rate
£35
per 50-minute session

For those on low incomes, benefits, or in financial hardship. A limited number of places available.

Full Rate
£45
per 50-minute session

If your circumstances allow. Paying the full rate directly subsidises access for those with less.

How does this work in practice? When you get in touch, I'll simply ask you to reflect on your financial situation and choose a rate that feels honest and sustainable. There's no means-testing or proof required — just trust. The initial consultation is always free of charge. Fees are reviewed together and can be adjusted as circumstances change.

Common Questions

You might be wondering

Is online therapy as effective as face-to-face?+
Research consistently shows online therapy to be as effective as in-person work for most people. It also removes barriers of geography, travel, and mobility — and many clients find they feel more at ease in their own environment. A stable internet connection and a private space are the main requirements.
How do I choose which fee to pay?+
I ask you to reflect honestly on your financial situation. If you are in work and have reasonable financial stability, the standard or full rate supports the practice. If you are on a low income, benefits, or facing genuine hardship, the reduced rate is there for you. There is no judgment and no means-testing — the sliding scale works on mutual trust.
What platform do you use, and is it secure?+
I use a dedicated, GDPR-compliant therapy platform with end-to-end encryption. You'll receive a secure link before each session — no downloads needed, it works from any browser. Notes and personal data are stored securely in line with NCPS ethical guidelines and UK data protection law.
Are you registered with a professional body?+
Yes. I am a registered member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), which is a recognised professional body for counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK. I work within their ethical framework, hold full professional indemnity insurance, and engage in regular clinical supervision.
How long will I need to attend?+
This is always your choice and varies enormously. Some people find significant relief in 8–12 sessions. Others prefer longer or open-ended work. We'll discuss what feels right at the initial assessment and keep reviewing it — there's no pressure in either direction.
What if I'm not sure therapy is right for me?+
That uncertainty is completely normal and a good reason to use the free consultation. It's a genuinely low-pressure space to get a feel for things, ask questions, and decide without any commitment. Many people find that speaking once is enough to know whether they'd like to continue.
